How celebrities are transforming their wardrobes with eyewear

Let’s face it – we all want to look like our favourite celebrities. Whether you’re a fan of the pruned and polished Kim Kardashian or you’re into the natural beauty of stars like Demi Lovato, Kesha, and Ashley Tisdale, the chances are that you follow them on Instagram and have taken some fashion and beauty inspiration from their pages.

One trend that continues to dominate celebrity culture is eyewear. Having the paparazzi in your face every day will undoubtedly cause your eyes some strain, and being noticed by fans and journalists can also be an issue. By investing in a pair of sunglasses, celebrities can drown out some of the paparazzi lights and remain semi-anonymous in the process.

Why buy luxury sunglasses?

Although luxury sunglasses are more expensive than traditional sunglasses, they often feature attractive designs which are favoured by fashionistas and celebrities. Designer brands also add unique logos to their sunglasses frames, which can be another attractive benefit in certain circumstances. Ray-Ban sunglasses, for example, have exploded in popularity in recent years, simply because of their retro designs and the Ray-Ban logo in the corner of the glasses frame. When you buy luxury sunglasses, you’re not only buying the glasses, but you’re buying into the brand – and the brand helps to finish off your outfit.

Which celebrities wear sunglasses?

Pretty much every celebrity has a pair of designer sunglasses – especially if they’re in the public eye often and are exposed to paparazzi shots and influxes of fans calling their name. In fact, sunglasses have become synonymous with celebrity culture – wearing them makes you appear cool, celebrity-like and ahead of the trends, so why not buy your own?

What are the most popular luxury eyewear brands?

Although sunglasses brands vary from country to country, we’ve managed to find the world’s top ten most popular brands. Burberry comes in at number ten, while Dolce & Gabbana makes the list at nine. Versace, Prada and Armani round off the lower half of the top ten, while Gucci, Fendi and Maui Jim complete the five to three spots respectively. Oakley is the second most popular eyewear brand in the world, and everyone’s favourite Ray Ban comes in at number one. But the top ten list isn’t necessarily representative of what celebrities wear – Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo, Pared and WILDFOX continue to grow in popularity in the US and the UK.

Finding the right eyewear can transform your outfit and make you look and feel just a tiny bit more like a celebrity. Which brand is your favourite? Let us know in the comments.
