Former Afghan minister claims Taliban killing children in reign of terror
The former interior minister of Afghanistan claims that Taliban militants have been killing children and the elderly as they seek to rule the country by terrorizing its people.
“Taliban are trying to rule over people by terrorizing, killing young children and elderly citizens,” Masoud Andarabi said in a tweet, alongside shocking images of a baby and a young child who were allegedly killed by the insurgents.
“In Andarab, Taliban have been carrying out unwarranted searches of homes, capturing people without reason or justification and killing innocent citizens. As a result, people have had to rise against their brutality to protect their lives, honor, dignity and property,” he added.
Andarabi was dismissed in March by now-former President Ashraf Ghani amid a spate of attacks against the country’s security forces.
A senior security official told Reuters in March that Andarabi had failed to arrest a militia commander whose forces shot down a helicopter in central Wardak province, killing nine security force members.

The Taliban went on the topple the government on Aug. 14, sparking a deadly scramble by Afghans to flee from the war-torn country.
